Dr. Whiteford graduated from East Carolina University in his hometown of Greenville, North Carolina, in 1976 and received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in August 2009. His work experience has included acute care, teaching, and private practice. In 1986, Bill teamed up with Colleen Murphy to open Appalachian Physical Therapy in southwest Virginia. They relocated their office to Harrisonburg, VA in 1987 and were later married in 1988.
Bill specializes in orthopedic disorders, is certified in dry needling through Myopain® and is a practitioner of Fascial Manipulation-Stecco ® Method. He has over three decades of experience in working with TMJ disorders.
Bill is a certified private pilot and has been flying for over 45 years. He is multi-engine instrument rated and has received his A/P (airframe and power plant) mechanics certificate. Interest also include beekeeping, hunting and working on the farm.
